Bulk Listing

This guide covers an in depth view of the bulk listing spreadsheet

The first step to setting up your bulk upload spreadsheet is to download out CSV template. The download link can be found on the bulk upload menu when listing items.

Here's what the template looks like with some example items:

bulk upload

The column headers represent the category you are filling out for your item. Each row below represents an item you are listing.

Listing Title and Description

These columns will describe your item. The listing title will show up on the listing cards when browsers view your listings.

The description will show up on the item's listing page on the buyer portal. It can be difficult to have multiple paragraphs when typing into the CSV document. The easiest way to work with paragraphs and line breaks on the CSV is to copy/paste an already typed description into the cell. This will preserve any paragraph style formatting while uploading the CSV.

Minimum Bid

This will be your starting bid for the item. If you want to make the starting bid 10% of retail value and are using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, you could easily create a function in the minimum_bid column that will multiply the value in the retail_price column by a percent to populate the starting bid.

Pickup/Shipping (yes/no)

These columns decide whether your item can be picked up or shipped. "Yes" will enable pickup, shipping, or both, depending on the column you type yes in. Entering "no" or leaving it blank will disable that fulfillment method for the item.

We have a system set up post upload that will check your csv for any errors. If any of them are missing pickup or shipping settings, a window will pop up and ask what you would like to with those items.

Inventory Location

This column is used for internal reference on locating items within your warehouse or storage area. It makes it easier for employees to find the item when it's time for pickup or shipping.

Images

Images must be hosted online to be able to work with bulk listing. Links to the desired images are placed in the cell. Multiple images can be uploading by separating the links by commas. Please visit our Photo Guide for more information about optimal photos to use.

Weight and Dimensions

Weight and dimensions are relatively simple. The cell will recognize numbers along with accompanied text when uploading. If no numbers are presented, they will be uploaded as blank.

Quantity

Not to be confused with the number of items you're selling, it denotes the quantity of items per listing. For example, if you're selling a pallet containing 35 cell phones, you'll want to put the quantity at 35. It will still be under a single listing, but having the quantity will let customers know what they're getting for the price. If left blank, it will default to a quantity of 1.

Package Type

There are four package types compatible with our platform: Single Unit, Pallet, Truck, and Other. If any values are entered other than these four, the package type will be left blank in the item details.

Retail Price

Pretty self explanatory, but important to have available. Putting the retail price in makes it easier for customers to know if they're getting a deal. It's also helpful as stated above to calculate starting bid with a spreadsheet function.

Lot Number

These are crucial for finding the item after the sale. Things can easily get lost in a warehouse, so they're used to keep items grouped and organized for specific auctions, and to be able to easily identify the exact item that's being listed. Our platform lets you reorganize the position of items within the auction while still keeping the lot number the same.
